12D T3 (Traffic Management)

Description:

This 12D T3 (static works on dual carriageways restricted to 40mph or less) course provides candidates with the necessary underpinning technical knowledge and skills to install, maintain, alter and dismantle temporary traffic management systems on dual carriageway roads restricted to 40mph or less. The course has been specifically designed for you if you are a Registered Traffic Management Operative (RTMO) as described in sector scheme document 12D and wish to add this category to your 12D card. Candidates will need to undertake both a classroom-based training day and a set of on and off site assessments as prescribed in the sector scheme. The assessments must be completed within a two year period starting from the date of passing the training.

What will you learn

Upon completion of 12D T3, candidates will:

  • Be aware of sector schemes
  • Be aware of Health and Safety work
  • Be aware of risk assessments and method statements
  • Be aware of the relevant codes of practice and other associated documentation when involved in traffic management
  • Identify the equipment required in temporary traffic management
  • Understand the requirements for working on dual carriageways restricted to 40mph or less

Course requirements

Candidates must have achieved 12D T1 and T2 before undertaking this course. All candidates wishing to undertake this course will need to have full PPE.
