This comprehensive three day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. This course will give participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid.

What will you learn

On successful completion the learner will:​

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Be able to assess an incident
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing/not breathing normally
  • Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
  • Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury
  • Be able to conduct a secondary survey
  • Be able to identify injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Be able to identify suspected head and spinal injuries
  • Be able to identify suspected chest injuries
  • Be able to identify burns and scalds
  • Be able to identify an eye injury
  • Be able to identify sudden poisoning
  • Be able to identify anaphylaxis
  • Be able to identify suspected major illness
