Our work in the healthcare sector has developed through our understanding of construction and refurbishment in sensitive live environments with minimal disruption. We have completed ward refurbishments, new builds, alterations and enabling works while premises remain fully operational. Our approach takes into account the unique environment of healthcare premises, with a true understanding of end user requirements.
Consultation and communication with end users is key to ensuring not only the final result is right, but also to guarantee minimal disruption during the works. We approach each project collaboratively from day one, gaining an understanding of how the health facility operates and the specific needs of those within the building. During the works we provide daily updates and are flexible in our approach where required.
Examples of our works within the healthcare sector include:
- Nuffield Health, Bournemouth Hospital - £320k – Works included extensive refurbishment and internal alterations to the Purbeck Ward, as well as minor enabling and phasing works throughout the hospital. Despite the complexities of the building and challenges of working around live operating theatres, the SWH Build team achieved what at times seemed the impossible, and ultimately completed the project on programme.
