SWH employee shortlisted for Excellence award
Anna Cooper (shown far right), SWH’s Project Skills Co-ordinator, has been shortlisted for Constructing Excellence South West’s ‘Young Achiever of the Year’ Award in the Image of Construction category.
Anna has worked for SWH for more than three years promoting construction related careers, training and apprenticeships to people throughout the south west. Anna has developed strong relationships with a network of schools and further education colleges during this time. More recently, Anna has expanded her work to help hard to reach groups such as the long term unemployed, NEETs (those not in full time education, employment or training), ex-offenders and former services personnel who may not be aware of the opportunities available or may need additional help in accessing them.
Thanks to Anna’s hard work and perseverance, SWH has been awarded ‘Top Performing’ status as a National Skills Academy for Construction for the last three years and was recently awarded the Apprenticeship Development Award at the Plymouth Herald Business Awards.
Anna said: “I am thrilled to have been included on the short list ‘Young Achiever of the Year’. I am passionate about the work that I do so it is fantastic to have been recognised for this by Constructing Excellence South West, especially amongst so many excellent candidates.”
Richard Towl, MD said: “This is great news and we are very proud that Anna’s hard work has been recognised – even to make the shortlist is a great achievement. Anna’s enthusiasm and dedication to her job has had a huge impact on many lives throughout the south west, and we wish her the best of luck.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Exeter on Tuesday 23 May.
