SWH Apprentice of the Year 2016 announced
Sam Moore with Glen Robinson, MD of South West Highways
SWH Group’s annual Apprentice of the Year has been announced, with the award going to Sam Moore, a Business Administration Apprentice working within the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) department.
Sam has been working at SWH Group for just over two years as part of his apprenticeship with Exeter College. His role is varied and he carries out a range of duties related to incidents, SHEQ Events, TRACA, face fit testing, calibration, LOLER and at our Annual Safety Days. Sam is often the first port of call for people requiring information from the SHEQ team, alongside the college coursework required to complete his apprenticeship.
Glen Robinson, Managing Director of South West Highways, presented Sam with his award on 16th September in a ceremony attended by members of the senior management team and his colleagues.
Internal and external staff praise Sam’s diligence and commitment to his work:
“In my dealings with Sam I have found him to be very helpful and efficient. He is always quick to provide the information I require if it’s available to him, and when it isn’t he always happy to find it out.”
Brendan Harris, Insurance Manager, SWH Group
“For me, the obvious positive change has been Sam’s confidence which is reflected in his body language and verbal communications. Sam has moved from a very shy lad to a confident and clearly intelligent young man.”
Andy Cleere, BSi Lead Auditor
SWH Group employs apprentices in a range of areas including admin, highway maintenance and general construction, as well as offering training to individuals and organisations throughout the UK.
